Private Dental Prices 2017

Private Dental Prices 2017

Posted on October 13, 2017 by Stephanie Turner in Alton News (clinic: Alton, Basingstoke, Emsworth, Ferndown)

The huge demand for private dentistry increases each year. Why is that?

This blog post discusses feedback we hear from our private patients at Envisage Dental and the added value of going private when it comes to looking after your teeth.

One common thread is the feeling of being rushed and many patients tell us that as an NHS patient in the past at other practices, they felt their appointments were hurried and treatment was often scheduled over long periods of time, simply because appointments weren’t available when needed.

At Envisage, being an exclusively private dental group means we tend to offer longer more relaxed appointment times and we do not have the pressure of having to achieve a specific number of units of dental activity that NHS practices have to hit. This unfortunately can mean your time with your dentist is restricted and you feel rushed.

Longer appointment times mean we can get to grips with really understanding your case, your personal history, what improvements you would like to make to your smile and your fears – if, for example, you’re a nervous patient.

It can also be tricky to see an NHS dentist for immediate emergency dental appointments which is less than ideal when you are struggling with terrible tooth pain.

Nervous Patients A Speciality

A lot of patients have dental anxiety and need a little more time to talk through the available options in detail without feeling pressured. Here at Envisage we completely understand that every patient is different and we tailor bespoke packages to suit individuals needs.

You can read more about one of our nervous patients Caroline’s experience here. We helped calm her fears and her treatment was completed with no pain or discomfort.

Your teeth are so important and deserve the very best care. Going private with Envisage means time added value and an understanding that oral care cannot be hurried.

Please note we recognise that the NHS is a fabulous institution and there are amazing Dentists out there doing good work every single day.

What you can expect to pay for private dental treatments?

Any dental treatment that is considered to be wholly aesthetic in nature will not be covered by the NHS. This can often include orthodontic treatments and braces (including invisalign).

Additionally, treatments such as whitening, veneers or non-fixed braces will not be covered either. This is because the NHS will only pay for necessary dental treatment that negatively impacts on your oral health rather than improve the cosmetic appearance of your teeth.

For this reason all cosmetic dentistry is performed exclusively by private dentists.

Here at Envisage we believe in being completely upfront about the treatments we offer and their respective costs and will always explain the costs involved, prior to your treatment commencing.

We also believe in making sure you have a real choice in the dental care you receive.

Where there is a huge range of treatment options available, our friendly team will explain the benefits of each, so you know all the facts first.
