Your next visit

We are reopening and ready to welcome you back to your dental clinic!

Firstly, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well. Following recent updates from the Government, we are now in a position to share our opening plans with you, and to reinforce the steps we are taking to ensure we can provide a safe and accessible environment for our staff, patients and customers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times and are very much looking forward to welcoming you through our doors again. We wanted to also provide you with an update on how we will reopen our clinic and answer any commonly asked questions. You may see some changes when it is time for you next appointment.  We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

We are implementing a deliberate phased approach so we can gradually increase the numbers of staff and patients we see in our clinic, whilst ensuring the environment remains safe and controlled. This multi-phased approach will see clinical staff availability grow gradually over the coming months, with an immediate priority for patients with emergencies and unfinished treatments.

safety first

Safety First

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months.  While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your previous visits. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable.  We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our clinic follows infection control recommendations made by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the British Dental Association (BDA) and the General Dental Council (GDC) – along with other dental and government governing bodies such as Public Health England (PHE). We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to recommendations. We have carried out the necessary risk assessment to ensure the way we operate is ‘Covid-19 Secure’ so that we can begin to welcome you back as quickly as possible without compromising on safety. There may be a small infection control fee with your appointment which will be clearly marked for you. This is to ensure you receive the full benefit of all our enhanced controls and protocols.

Booking your next appointment

We will either send you an email link, SMS or call you shortly to rebook your next appointment. We will be prioritising patients who have had a dental emergency and those who were mid-way through treatment. We will then be resuming routine dental health checks along with all other treatments whilst observing new guidelines for your safety. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. We are restricting patient visits to minimize contact, that might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

feeling unwell

What to do if you feel unwell

You will be screened before your next appointment as below. What happens before your appointment

We want to limit any administration tasks and the use of paper before your appointment and whilst on site as well as the use of our patient lounges (where possible). 1. Contact you to ask you a series of health screening questions to ensure you have not experienced any symptoms within the last 48 hours.
  2. To ensure that you have all the information easily to hand, we will send you all the key appointment information (appointment time, cost, procedure etc) by email
  3. Request you complete a medical history update securely online. Please do not print this out and bring with you.
  4. Before you depart for the practice, we ask you to have already visited the lavatory, have ensured that you are hydrated and already brushed your teeth. It is important that you do not bring any additional baggage or items into the practice
  5. When travelling to the clinic, please practice social distancing. Where possible, try to avoid public transport. Social distancing shall also apply once you are inside our clinic.

What happens at your appointment

  1. Before entering the practice, one of our trained team members will take your temperature to ensure you do not have a fever. Unfortunately, if you have an increased temperature, we will have to rearrange your appointment for the safety of all those in practice.
  2. Once you have been invited into the practice, we kindly ask that you to sanitise your hands and avoid touching your face where possible.
  3. We advise any payment before your appointment (if possible), to ensure you can have a swift departure once your treatment has finished. Our practice colleagues will be behind protective plastic screens, but this is for the safety of everyone.
  4. Before you enter the treatment room, you will need to leave any loose belongings like your coat or bag in the designated box provided.
  5. Upon entering the treatment room, our teams will be wearing extra Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as in order to provide you with the right care and service, they cannot adhere to social distancing recommendations. This may mean that it is more difficult to hear and see your dentist, but please be reassured that they will be the usual friendly team.
  6. You may be asked to use a mouthwash for up to 30 seconds where you are undergoing any treatment.
  7. We strongly recommend that you utilise each appointment visit for the maximum proposed treatment as possible; this will reduce the overall visits required to ensure you remain safe.
  8. We do ask that where possible, you pay for treatment via card, contactless payment, or bank transfer. Regrettably, cash payments will not be accepted. Our reception team will be behind protective plastic screens, but this is for the safety of everyone.
  9. After each visit we will be increasing our cleaning protocol to ensure the treatment room is fully disinfected and ready for the next patient.

N.B. We do ask that you strictly comply to the above measures to ensure the safety of you, our other patients and our staff.
